Glossary/Testimonial
Testimonial — definition
A testimonial is a direct endorsement quote from a real user, ideally with name, role, photo, and a specific outcome. Unlike anonymous star ratings, a named testimonial lets visitors verify the person exists and imagine themselves getting a similar result.
Why it matters for indie developers
Generic praise (“great product!”) converts worse than one concrete line about time saved or revenue gained. Founders should ask for specificity, not volume.
If you have no customers yet, peer exchanges and early beta users are how you collect the first credible quotes — then display them on a Wall of Proof or embed widget.
