Glossary/Domain authority
Domain authority — definition
Domain authority is a third-party score (popularized by Moz and similar tools) estimating how likely a website is to rank in search. It is not a Google metric. Higher scores usually reflect a stronger backlink profile, age, and topical relevance — useful as a rough comparison, not as a guarantee.
Why it matters for indie developers
When you swap backlinks, partner relevance matters more than chasing a vanity DA number. A mid-authority indie blog in your niche often converts better than a high-DA unrelated site.
Building authority takes years of useful content and earned links. Glossaries, comparison pages, and original stats are long-term plays; short-term link schemes rarely stick.
